JB Hall

 jb-hall-ohio-1
We like to take a moment and introduce the artist JB Hall.

JB Hall lived in many areas throughout the north, transplanting from one location to the next. This has shaped and invigorated his versatile styles of art making. The foundation of his art process is to have the ability to view the same subject from a different perspective. His philosophy is that he believes to have success in art, as with life, is truly trial and error. We grasp this statement and set our minds to his abstract perspective.

“Each piece or chapter is an incomplete exercise and can be reshaped and pounded into a success.”
– JB Hall

Please take to time to view his work on our blog. We have these original pieces scattered throughout our show room. If you like to purchase or to set an appointment to view, please contact our studio.

Susan Goethel Campbell

Today we would like to highlight a piece created by the wonderfully creative Susan Goethel Campbell.  Central to her creative process is the collection, documentation, and observation of seasonal change and ephemera.  Winds Aloft No. 2, featured below, is inspired by the phenomena of weather and atmospheric events.  It contains a beauty that seems so natural, so one-with-the-earth. She begins by inking the surface of handmade paper onto a woodblock, the  grain of a tree leaving a subtle yet beautiful impression.  She illustrates the movement of wind by punching repetitive perforations across the page, allowing light to waver throughout the entire work, changing its appearance based on the time of day.  What a beautiful way to portray the invisible.

The beautiful minds behind Area Environments deserve some gratitude from our quant design studio 2000 miles away. This relatively new creative studio collaborates with international artists to transform their original works of art into wall coverings and murals. The uniting of artists from around the world creates a collection with such a unique range in subject matter/design/technique you begin to forget your viewing wall coverings.  And for those who crave an impactful work of art within their budget, this is just the thing.

A GLIMPSE OF WHO WE ARE

As new members to the world of blogging, we would like to formerly introduce ourselves.  We are an interior design group located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  Designer and owner, Kathleen Franza, is known around here as “the modern girl.”  She has an aesthetic that beautifies the minimal, modern, and organic; it is a combination that seems to have been created just as simply as the natural materials found within her interiors.  So welcome to our blog, we hope you enjoy our work and what inspires us.

M.H. MYERS: Connected to the Elements

M.H. Myers

Bradford County, FL by M.H. Myers

M.H. Myers

Matanzas Inlet, FL by M.H. Myers

M.H. Myers

Tomoka River, Volusia County by M.H. Myers

Photographer, painter, musician and an all around creative spirit, M.H. Myers is an artist we recently had the pleasure of meeting.  His photographs, composed in black and white, illustrate his ability to beautifully intertwine rich tonal range, intriguing compositions, and a harmonious balance between the elements that seem to capture a genuine connection between person and place, material and landscape, or nature living and thriving amongst itself.  Myers feels the black and white process  allows for an abstract purity that cannot be achieved through color work, providing an essential, honest representation of his subjects.  As a native of Florida, he has witnessed the continuing destruction of its natural beauty in one of the fastest growing states of the union.  It is through his photography that he wishes to preserve some of that beauty for others and future generations.  Combining traditional and contemporary methods, he works with medium and large format film cameras, then scans and digitally prints his works on archival paper. From pre-visualization to the finished image, Myers controls every aspect of the artistic process.  Included in private and corporate collections, and the recipient of numerous awards over the years, he continues to interpret the natural beauty of his native state, as well as a few other personal favorite areas of the country, including Maine, Arizona and New Mexico.

We have a great collection of Myers photographs in our showroom, framed and unframed, with varying sizes.  Today, Myers is focusing his artistic energy on painting.  Can’t wait to see what he creates!
